Tampa Bay Lightning: Lightning GM Steve Yzerman release the below statement with regards to Steven Stamkos‘ injury.
“Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos suffered a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee during the team’s game against the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday night and will remain out of the lineup indefinitely,” said Lightning General Manager Steve Yzerman. “We are in the process of evaluating options for repair and rehabilitation and will release more information as it becomes available.”
Joe Smith: Yzerman on Stamkos: “Our understanding is that this issue can be repaired + he can get back to full speed. It just takes some time.”
On the New Jersey Devils …
Tom Gulitti: Taylor Hall as a torn meniscus in his left knee. He was to have surgery yesterday and recovery is estimated to be three to four weeks.
On the Boston Bruins …
Steve Conroy: Coach Claude Julien said that David Pastrnak is still day-to-day. Kevan Miller isn’t ready to play yet. Tuukka Rask was given a maintenance day yesterday.
On the Detroit Red Wings …
Ansar Khan: Coach Jeff Blashill said that Darren Helm won’t need surgery and will be out for a minimum of six weeks.
Ted Kulfan: Andreas Athanasiou is likely out for another two weeks with his knee injury. Thomas Vanek will be ready to return on Sunday.
On the Buffalo Sabres …
Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald: Ryan O’Reilly is questionable for tonight’s game against the Lightning. He’s missed the past two games with a “mid-body” injury.
Coach Dan Bylsma on Jack Eichel:
“upping his skating regimen and showing signs of progress.”
“But (he) still has a ways to go, hasn’t reached all the levels of his skating yet in terms of stopping and starting,” Bylsma said.
Tyler Ennis will be out for six weeks after groin surgery last week.
