- Harvey Fialkov of the Sun-Sentinel: Sean Bergenheim has only played two games in the last 18 months. He was suppose to consult with doctors in Nashville last Monday, but he went to Toronto instead for treatment. He should be back with the team in the next few days.
“I’m worried about his career,’’ Dineen said after practice at the BB&T Center where the players signed equipment and memorabilia for the Panthers charity foundation. “I worry about him as a player. It’s been an extremly long time off. I understand it’s an extremely hard game we play. He’s not a good player unless he’s physically involved in the game and he’s active.”
- Arthur Staple of Newsday: Islanders defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky’s concussion will be evaluated to today. If he’ll be staying on the IR, the Islanders will likely look to sign Radek Martinek. Martinek has been skating with the team for the last week.
- Helene St. James: Red Wings Niklas Kronwall is day-to-day with a concussion, but hopes to be on the ice Monday. He’ll need to get clearance by doctors before he’s able to start skating.
- Stephen Whyno: Oilers Taylor Hall left last night’s game with a left knee injury.
