Tim Sassone of the Daily Herald: Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa left last night’s game in the 2nd period and didn’t return. Hossa suffered an upper-body injury and will be re-evaluated today.
Iain MacIntyre of the Vancouver Sun: The Vancouver Canucks could be without another defenseman as Andrew Alberts did not practice yesterday after injuring his knee against the Avalanche, an MRI is scheduled for today. The Canucks are already without Sami Salo (Achilles), Keith Ballard (concussion) and Dan Hamhuis (foot). Hamhuis is still unable to skate.

Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen: Jason Spezza skated on his own yesterday, but not with the team. He’s out for tonight, and has missed 4 games so far this season with the groin injury. They are hoping for a Saturday return.

Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Polak will have the surgery today to repair a severed tendon in his right wrist. His wrist will be re-evaluated in 10-14 days to better establish when he could return.
