Terrell Williams Carolina Hurricanes: The Hurricanes and forward Phil Di Giuseppe agreed on a one-year deal worth $725,000 in the NHL and $125,000 in the AHL.
On the Buffalo Sabres …
Bill Hoppe: The Sabres re-signed Evan Rodrigues to a two-year deal worth $650,000 per season. It is a two-way deal in the first year and one-way for the second.
On Chris Neil …
Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun: Chris Neil is still looking for an NHL contract and is not really worried about it. He is looking for the right fit on a one-year, one-way deal.
“Everything is pretty quiet right now,” Neil said. “Obviously, I’ve had some offers from teams. Looking at it, it wasn’t the right fit at the time. There’s some stuff in the air, and we’re still going through it. It’s not just me I’m thinking about. It’s my wife and my kids. It’s got to be the right kind of fit, like Ottawa has been through my whole career.”
On Kris Letang …
Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Kris Letang was on the NHL Network on Wednesday and was talking about his recovery from his neck surgery that was performed in April. Recovery was expected to be four to six months, with the start of training camp coming round the five month mark.
“It’s been very good,” said Letang of his health during a Wednesday appearance on NHL Network. “Obviously I had a lot of time to rehab it, get it stronger, make sure it’s all healed up.
“It’s been pretty good and we’re on the path to starting training camp and being fully healthy.”
