On the Anaheim Ducks …

Eric Stephens: The Ducks have claimed forward J.T. Brown off waivers from the Lightning, and placed forward Logan Shaw on waivers.

Eric Stephens: The Ducks were expecting Brown to arrive last night and to play today against the Avalanche. “We’re not bringing him there to sit in the stands.”

NHL Player Safety: Ducks forward Andrew Cogliano was suspended for two games for interference on Kings forward Adrian Kempe.

Eric Stephens: Cogliano’s iron man streak is now over at 830 games played. It was the fourth longest of all time.

Eric Engels: Longest consecutive games played streak is now led by Keith Yandle at 675. Next in line are Patrick Marleau (669), Phil Kessel (654) and Karl Alzner (582).

On the Calgary Flames …

Derek Wills: Forward Sean Monahan missed last night’s game.

Kristen Odland: The Flames have put forward Jaromir Jagr on the IR and recalled Ryan Lomberg.

On the Carolina Hurricanes …

Chip Alexander: Forward Sebastian Aho left in the third period after taking a high hit from Flames defenseman Mark Giordano. Aho was helped off the ice and was favoring his left leg, but there was also contact to the head. Coach Bill Peters didn’t have an update on Aho’s status after the game.

“Obviously, there’s some head contact. I don’t know there was much intent, to be honest with you. I thought (Giordano’s) arm was tucked in low. But it ended up catching him in the head, so unfortunate.”

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Jon Rosen: Defenseman Jake Muzzin is close to returning from his upper-body injury. He’s been getting better each day and will talk to coaches and trainers today to see if he’ll be able to get back in the lineup.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Sam Werner: Goaltender Matt Murray will travel with the team on their road trip according to coach Mike Sullivan.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Rick Dhaliwal: Coach Travis Green said that forward Bo Horvat has been skating. He’ll continue over their break and is getting closer to returning to the lineup.

Rick Dhaliwal: Coach Green said that Sedin should only be out for a couple days.

On the Winnipeg Jets …
