On the Anaheim Ducks …

Anaheim Ducks: Coach Randy Carlyle said that goaltender Ryan Miller took some shots before the team practiced yesterday. He could join their practice this week if he continues to progress. Ondrej Kase was also on the ice with Miller and was taking shots on him. He continues to improve as well.

Eric Stephens: Defenseman Cam Fowler took part in the Ducks practice yesterday. He started skating on his own earlier last week.

Eric Stephens: The Ducks send Kalle Kossila back to the AHL.

On the Boston Bruins …

Boston Bruins: Defenseman Torey Krug missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury.

On the Colorado Avalanche …

Chris Johnston: Defenseman Samuel Girard played his ninth game of the season last night. One more game and it will burn a year off his entry-level contract.

On the Detroit Red Wings …

Detroit Red Wings: The Red Wings assigned defenseman Brian Lashoff to the AHL.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen: Chris Wideman tore his hamstring on Thursday and will be out “months” according to head coach Guy Boucher.

Doctors are still deciding what will be the best course of action for Wideman. Surgery hasn’t been ruled out yet. There is a chance that Wideman is done for the season.

“He’s out for months. It’s not good at all. We have to wait to find out how many. It’s a definite tear and it’s not a good one,” Boucher said before the Senators faced off against the Arizona Coyotes at Canadian Tire Centre. “We have to wait for more information from doctors to specify how long and what the procedure is going to be. He got really unlucky on that one.”

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Philadelphia Flyers: Forward Jordan Weal missed yesterday’s game with an upper-body injury. He is listed as day-to-day.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Jeff Paterson: Defenseman Chris Tanev practiced yesterday. He’s still on the IR but is looking like he should be able to travel with the team on their road trip.

On the Washington Capitals …

Isabelle Khurshudyan: Coach Barry Trotz said that Tyler Graovac, who is on a conditioning stint, can remain there for a fourth or fifth game if he approves it.
