On the St. Louis Blues and Colton Parayko …

Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: The St. Louis Blues and Colton Parayko agreed to a five-year, $27.5 million contract today. The deal carries a $5.5 million salary cap hit.

They were scheduled to have a salary arbitration hearing today. Parayko had asked for $4.85 million in arbitration, with the Blues offering $3.4 million and $3.6 million on a two-year deal.

Parayko and Alex Pietrangelo are the only defensemen the Blues have signed after the 2018-10 season.

Craig Morgan: Contract breakdown for Parayko.

2017-18: $6,500,000
2018-19: $6,500,000
2019-20: $5,525,000
2020-21: $3,350,000
2021-22: $5,625,000

On the Nashville Predators and Viktor Arvidsson …

Elliotte Friedman: For salary arbitration the Predators have offered $2.75 million for each year of a two-year deal, with Arvidsson asking for a one-year deal at $4.5 million.

Adam Vingan: Viktor Arvidsson actual value probably lies somewhere between the $2.75 million and $4.5 million.

Adam Vingan: Arvidsson requested the arbitration, the Predators get to select the term – either one or two years.

On the Ottawa Senators and Ryan Dzingel …

Elliotte Friedman: The Senators are offering $1 million in salary arbitration, with Dzingel asking for $1.95 million.

On the Buffalo Sabres and Kyle Okposo …

Bill Hoppe of Buffalo Hockey Beat: Sabres winger Kyle Okposo played in an informal game yesterday in Minnesota. Okposo had missed the final six games of last season and spent time in neuro surgical intensive care unit at a Buffalo Hospital.

Sabres GM Jason Botterill said in June that Okposo would be ready for training camp.
