On the Los Angeles Kings …

Curtis Zupke: Coach John Stevens said defenseman Derek Forbort is not “officially” listed as out for the series, but he’s not available for the start of their series against the Golden Knights. He hasn’t started skating yet.

On the San Jose Sharks …

Kevin Kurz: Forward Joe Thornton wouldn’t rule himself out of their first-round series against the Ducks, but said again that he wouldn’t return until his knee is strong and healthy enough for him to remain in the lineup.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Lou Korac: Vladimir Tarasenko has his shoulder surgery yesterday morning and will be re-evaluated at the start of training camp in September.

On the Vancouver Canucks  …

Iain MacIntyre: Forward Brock Boeser‘s wrist injury may only need an injection and to be immobilized for a month. He expects to be able to fully train this offseason and be a 100 percent for next year.

Jeff Paterson: Boeser won’t need surgery on his wrist. It is the same wrist that he had surgery on while he was at UND. Boeser is also recovering from a back injury and hasn’t started doing workouts.

On the Vegas Golden Knights ...

David Schoen: Forward David Perron is listed as day-to-day and wasn’t able to go in Game 1.

Steve Carp: Coach Gerrard Gallant said that William Carrier is day-to-day after leaving last night’s game after a hit to the head by Kings defenseman Drew Doughty.
