Give the Calgary Flames need for some change to their blue line and their salary cap situation, bringing Travis Hamonic back may not make sense.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Anaheim Ducks: The Ducks reassigned forward Joseph Blandisi to the AHL.

On the Calgary Flames …

Calgary Flames: Forward Jaromir Jagr missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury.

Pat Steinberg: Defenseman Travis Hamonic left in the first period of last night’s game.

Will Nault: Coach Glen Gulutzan on Hamonic: “we did a good thing, we got the 2 points and it was a bit of a precaution with his groin. I’m not ruling him out for Friday against Montreal or anything at this point.”

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Chris Hine: Coach Joel Quenneville said that Jan Rutta and Cody Franson are both ready to return tonight, but they won’t be in the lineup. Quenneville added they will give them some additional time to rest.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mike Heika: Defenseman Marc Methot and his knee injury won’t be ready to return until after Christmas.

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Jon Rosen: The LA Kings recalled defenseman Kevin Gravel.

Jon Rosen: Kevin Gravel was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease this offseason.

Curtis Zupke: Coach Jon Stevens doesn’t know if defenseman Christian Folin will be ready to come off the IR when he’s eligible, but he doesn’t think that Folin would be out “long, long term.” Stevens said that Folin “kind of jammed” himself when he slid into the boards.

On the San Jose Sharks …

Curtis Pashelka of The Mercury News: Logan Couture didn’t skate on Wednesday and he could be shut down until after the Christmas break.

DeBoer said that Couture is progressing, but there is not timetable for his return. The Sharks play Thursday, Saturday, and are then off until the 28th.

“It probably makes the most sense,” DeBoer said when asked if there was a temptation to shut Couture down until after the break. “But we’ll see how he feels (Thursday).”

Forward Mikkel Boedker will be in the lineup . Boedker returned last game after missing seven games with a lower-body injury, playing just over eight minutes against the Oilers.

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Danny Webster: Vegas reassigned Tomas Hyka to the AHL.
