On the Anaheim Ducks …

Anaheim Ducks: Forward Ondrej Kase missed last night’s game with flu-like symptoms.

On the Colorado Avalanche …

BSN Avalanche: Goaltender Semyon Varlamov left last night’s game early.

AJ Haefele: All that coach Jared Bednar would say on Varlamov was that “He left the game with a lower-body injury.”

On the Dallas Stars ...

Mike Heika: Defenseman Marc Methot (knee) and forward Martin Hanzal (lower-body) were not ready to go last night. Forward Remi Elie is out with the flu.

On the Nashville Predators …

Nashville Predators: Defenseman Ryan Ellis returned to the lineup last night.

Brooks Bratten: Ellis: “Not only for me, but for the rest of the team, it’s a big game for us… I’d love to have my where I left it last year, but there will be some rust. We’ll manage the minutes and kind of go from there.”

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Vancouver Canucks: Forward Jake Virtanen missed last night’s game with an illness.

TSN: Defenseman Chris Tanev returned from a groin injury that had kept him out of the lineup since December 13th.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

TSN: Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien returned to the lineup last night after missing the past ten games with a lower-body injury.

“I’m feeling good. I’m over sitting and watching,” he said in an interview with the Jets website. “It’s exciting to get back on the ice with the guys and start being a part of the team again.”
