Sabres PR: The Sabres have recalled forward Justin Bailey from the AHL.

Amy Moritz of the Buffalo News: Forward Jack Eichel was doing extra skating yesterday, working on his conditioning and skills. He won’t be in the lineup tonight but is getting closer. He’s been able to get through two full practices.

Coach Phil Housley on if could return on Saturday or Monday.

“Could be a possibility but I don’t want to put a timeline on it,” Housley said. “I just feel that his progression is all that matters to us. He’s got to feel comfortable. We’ll continue to evaluate it every day.”

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

Brian Hedger: Defenseman Seth Jones is expected to play tonight against the Flyers.

Aaron Portzline: Have been told that forward Josh Anderson (knee sprain) hasn’t started skating yet. He’s been out since late February but is hopeful to play again this season.

Aaron Portzline: Defenseman Dean Kukan signed a two-year, one-way contract extension worth $1.45 million – $700,000 next year and $750,000 the following year.

On the New York Rangers …

New York Rangers: Defenseman Anthony DeAngelo will be out for three to four weeks with a sprained ankle.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Murray Pam: The Senators reassigned Erik Burgdoerfer to the AHL.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Bryan Burns: Forward Ondrej Palat doesn’t think he’ll be ready for Saturday’s game, but hopes to ready soon. He’d like to get in a few games before the playoffs start to get his timing back.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Lance Hornby: Goaltender Frederik Andersen left last night’s game with an upper-body injury.

Pierre LeBrun: Coach Mike Babcock didn’t have an update on Andersen after the game other than it’s upper-body. He said it may not be that serious since Andersen was able to play after the collision with Alex Radulov, but doesn’t know for sure.

Kristen Shilton: Hearing the Leafs will recall goaltender Garret Sparks to backup Curtis McElhinney tonight.
