Trevor Linden leave the Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver Canucks: President of Hockey Operations Trevor Linden has left the Canucks.

“There aren’t many individuals in sport more connected to a team and a community than Trevor is in Vancouver,” said Managing Partner, Francesco Aquilini. “The Canucks are entering an exciting new era thanks in large part to Trevor’s leadership and hard work. I thank Trevor for all of his accomplishments and I am confident that Jim Benning and his staff will continue that momentum in the months ahead.”

Linden has left to “pursue different endeavors” after four years.

Francesco Aquilini: “Jim Benning will now head up hockey operations and report directly to the ownership group.”

Francesco Aquilini: The Canucks will look to bring in a new president at a later date.

Taj: “Farhan reporting Linden and ownership met about a week ago. Linden used 4-5 teams as examples of how he wanted to do the rebuild. Ownership didn’t agree.”

Jason Brough: Farhan Lalji of TSN is reporting that after meeting with ownership, Linden “wasn’t willing to put his name on their vision,” and added that ownership may believe that they are farther along the rebuilding process and being competitive than Linden does.

Matthew Sekeres: With Linden now gone, believes the Canucks will increase their efforts to sign 2018 first-round pick Quinn Hughes.
