On the Detroit Red Wings …

Ansar Khan: Forward Justin Abdelkader (groin) wore a no-contact jersey at practice yesterday, his first time on the ice with teammates since last weekend.

Ansar Khan: Forward Henrik Zetterberg (neck) returned to practice yesterday.

Ansar Khan of MLive: Defenseman Ryan Sproul has been cleared to return after having ACL surgery last April.

“I’ve been pretty close for a couple weeks now,” Sproul said. “At camp, it was kind of no point to force it, so I’d like to get into a couple exhibition games, so I’m looking forward it.”

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Joe Smith: Defenseman Anton Stralman was back on the ice with the main group.

Joe Smith: Jake Dotchin hasn’t played in any preseason games yet as he violated a team rule. The Lightning have said that it won’t impact his spot on their roster.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

Mark Scheig: Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella said that they would continue to look at Nick Foligno at center.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mark Stepneski: Center Martin Hanzal will take part in full practices on Thursday and Friday with the hope of playing their final preseason game on Saturday.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Forward Robby Fabbri will miss the remainder of the preseason after he re-injured his left knee. Fabbri will be reevaluated in 10 days.

Fabbri joins a growing list of injured Blues: Zach Sanford (shoulder), Jay Bouwmeester (ankle), and Alex Steen (hand).
