New York Rangers: The Rangers assign Filip Chytil to the AHL and release Andrew Desjardins from this PTO.
Dan Rosen: Coach Alain Vigneault said they assigned Chytil to the AHL as they are not sure if they want to have him as an NHL option or if he should head back to Czech.
Steve Zipay: Vigneault said he wants coaches to evaluate Chytil’s play this weekend and then make a decision next week.

Andrew Gross: Forward Kyle Palmieri didn’t have a no-contact jersey on at practice yesterday.

Helene St. James: The x-rays for defenseman Danny DeKeyser came back negative. He had blocked a shot and is listed as day-to-day. Niklas Kronwall could be ready to go on Thursday.

Chip Alexander: Coach Bill Peters said that defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk is out with a concussion.
Cory Lavalette: van Riemsdyk is also dealing with knee and ankle issues. The Hurricanes don’t have any plans yet to recall someone.
