Kevin Hayes and the New York Rangers agree on a one-year deal. Cody Ceci and the Ottawa Senators file arbitration numbers.

Rangers and Hayes agree on a one-year deal

Larry Brooks: The New York Rangers have signed forward Kevin Hayes to a one-year deal at $5.125 million. The Rangers still have Ryan Spooner left to sign.

Wild sign a UFA forward on a two-way deal

Cap Friendly: The Minnesota Wild have signed free agent forward Matt Read to a one-year, two-way deal. Read will get $650,000 in the NHL and $250,000 in the AHL.

Blue Jackets sign first-round pick

Columbus Blue Jackets: The Blue Jackets have signed 2018 first-round pick Liam Foudy to a three-year entry-level deal.

The 18th overall pick scored 24 goals last season and added 16 assists in 65 games for the London Knights.

Cap Friendly: Foudy’s deal carries a $925,000 salary cap hit and a $1.3 million AAV.

Preds and Salomaki avoid arbitration

Nashville Preds PR: The Nashville Predators and Miikka Salomaki avoid salary arbitration by agreeing to a two-year contract at $1.5 million, a $750,000 salary cap hit.

Senators and Ceci send in arbitration numbers

Elliotte Friedman: The Ottawa Senators have offered Ceci $3.35 million, with Ceci asking for $6 million.

Stars and Gemel Smith send in arbitration numbers

Sean Shapiro: The Dallas Stars have offered Smith a two-way contract with their qualifying offer, with Smith submitting a one-year deal at $900,000.
