On the Buffalo Sabres …

Buffalo Sabres: The Buffalo Sabres re-signed Robin Lehner to a one-year, $4 million deal.

On the New York Islanders …

Arthur Staple: The Islanders signed defenseman Adam Pelech to a four-year contract with a salary cap hit of $1.6 million.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

Craig Morgan: The Coyotes have signed goaltender Marek Langhamer to a one-year, two-way deal with a $660,000 NHL cap hit and a $67,500 AHL salary.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Vancouver Canucks: The Canucks have re-signed forward Reid Boucher to a one-year, one-way deal for $687,500.

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: The Bruins and Ryan Spooner have an arbitration hearing scheduled for tomorrow and have exchanged numbers. The Bruins have offered a one-year deal for $2 million, with Spooner asking for $3.85 million.

Spooner has averaged 12 goals and 44 points on his two-year, $950,000 per year deal.

On the 2018 Winter Olympics …

Ken Campbell of The Hockey News: Hockey Canada will announce some of their Olympic plans this afternoon.

NHL deputy commission Bill Daly said again that NHL players won’t be going to the 2018 Olympics and that there isn’t an alternative schedule made up.

“I’m happy to be on the record,” NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said in an email to THN.com. “There is not an alternative schedule. Having NHL Players participate in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games is not an available option. All of the international federations are planning appropriately for constructing teams that will not include NHL players. I anticipate there will be federation announcements in the coming days that should eliminate any and all continuing doubt or skepticism about the issue.”
