Chris Hine of the Chicago Tribune: GM Stan Bowman said that they’ve had “good discussions” with Andrew Shaw’s agent, but there has been no progress.
“I don’t have a final answer on where we’re going,” Bowman said Thursday. “(We) had some good discussions with his agent, so that’s sort of ongoing. And we’re trying to get something done.
“That’s about how I can characterize it right now. … We have a lot of things we’re working through and that’s certainly one of them.”
Bowman may have to decide if they prefer Shaw or Marcus Kruger. Source saying they are checking the trade market for both players.
On the Tampa Bay Lightning, Calgary Flames and Ben Bishop …
Teams have not yet been permitted to talk to Bishop’s camp about potential contract. Would think that’d be possible prerequisite to a deal

Dreger: “It appears that Ben Bishop is a primary target, no pun intended, for the Calgary #Flames.” #TBLightning

Chris Nichols of Today’s Slapshot: Darren Dreger on TSN 1260 on Steven Stamkos.
“But I do believe that there are going to be several teams that are going to be happy to put a minimum of $10 million per year on the table. And there are some who believe that maybe a team like Buffalo goes as high as 12. I want to see that to believe that, but that’s why I think it’s going to be insane in the days ahead.”
