On Kevin Shattenkirk …
Darren Dreger: Seems unlikely that the Blues will be able to sign Kevin Shattenkirk to a contract extension. The Bruins are among the teams that are most interested.
On Alexander Radulov …
Aivis Kalnins: Alexander Radulov’s camp is being patient and are waiting to see how teams shape out.
On the New York Rangers …
Brett Cyrgalis of the NY Post: The Rangers have traded Keith Yandle‘s rights, and there are still questions with regards to the futures of Dan Girardi and Marc Staal. There is also the possibility of the Rangers trading Rick Nash to help clear out some salary space.
Yandle is from Boston and could be looking to return home, but only if the price is right.
On the Florida Panthers …
George Richards: Panthers GM Tom Rowe expects defenseman Brian Campbell to test free agency.
On the Boston Bruins …
Jimmy Murphy: If the Bruins aren’t able to trade for a top defenseman, can expect the Bruins to be interested in Brian Campbell.
On the Minnesota Wild …
Michael Rand of the Star Tribune: The Minnesota Wild will have only four picks in the upcoming draft.
“I’d like to avoid continually trading future picks to keep kicking the can down the road,” Fletcher said. “I’d rather pay the bill this year.”
GM Chuck Fletcher said they have received calls regarding backup goalie Darcy Kuemper, and that he would consider trading him.
“The net right now is Devan (Dubnyk’s). If we have an opportunity to move (Kuemper) and get a fair return, we’ll look at it,” Fletcher said. “But I don’t want to be too aggressive and leave us short in that position.”
Fletcher has also received lots of interest in their young defensemen.
“In the right scenario we would look at trading from our strength and depth to get a forward,” Fletcher said. “If it doesn’t happen, then we’re very, very content to bring that group back, and I know I would make Scott’s day if I did that.”
