It would take a big offer for the Flames to move Zach Whitecloud or Blake Coleman
TSN: Darren Dreger said the Calgary Flames would need to be blown out of the water to move defenseman Zach Whitecloud or forward Blake Coleman.
The Montreal Canadiens had interest in Connor Murphy
TSN: Pierre LeBrun said the Montreal Canadiens are looking at right-handed defensemen and were in on Chicago Blackhawks Connor Murphy before he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers
Matthew Knies out there, what? A first or two seconds for McMann? OEL wants to stay, but…
Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: Heard Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies out there. That signals they’re seeing if there is a massive offer out there.
Contenders are running out of first-round picks, so it might be two second-round picks for Bobby McMann.
TSN: The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to talk extension with Bobby McMann‘s agent, as well as trade talk with teams, according to Chris Johnston. An extension won’t be as much as Kiefer Sherwood‘s $5.75 million cap hit.
“I think the Leafs would like to keep him in the $4 million range, and if not, he can be a piece that brings them back a first-round pick or perhaps two second-round picks.”
TSN: The Maple Leafs have made Bobby McMann, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Scott Laughton available (and are holding out of the lineup again), but all three would like to stay.
“He’s got a limited trade protection, so that is an issue from his perspective, but you could also appreciate why Brad Treliving would be listening to all of the interest in Ekman-Larsson.”
Dreger thinks the expected return for Ekman-Larsson would be at least a first- and second-round pick.
