On the Detroit Red Wings …

Ansar Khan of MLive: The Red Wings will continue to get younger next season, and plan to lessen the ice time of veterans like Henrik Zetterberg (36) and Niklas Kronwall (35).

“We’re going to continue to try to move some young people onto our team and some of the young people we’re going to try to move up in responsibility with more ice time,” general manager Ken Holland said.

“Do we have any young players who can take the team over? I’m not sure. … They’ve got to grow into it.”

There will be more ice time available for some of their forwards with the expected departures of Pavel Datsyuk and Brad Richards.

On the New York Rangers …

Larry Brooks of the NY Post: Rangers prospect Pavel Buchnevich is now eligible to sign with the Rangers now that his KHL contract has expired. The Rangers now have to convince him to come over and take a spot in their top-six.

The Rangers should sign backup goalie Antti Raanta before July 1st. It will cost more than the $750,000 he made this past season.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen: With the draft lottery now over, Senators GM Pierre Dorion can go back to his head coaching search.

Rumors the Senators will interview as many as 10 to 12 potential coaches including Mike Yeo, Guy Boucher and Marc Crawford.

“Multiple interviews have been conducted,” Dorion said Saturday night. “It’s been a really interesting process. It’s great find out about potential coaches for the Ottawa Senators.

“Now with another team looking for a coach I think we have to be careful what we say. At the end of the day, we really feel confident we’re going to get a good coach here.”

They may have already stared the process of getting permission to speak with recently fired Bruce Boudreau.

The Minnesota Wild are another team looking for a head coach.
