Kings eyeing Max Pacioretty?
Sportsnet: Headlines … Nick Kypreos on Montreal Canadiens Max Pacioretty.
“The L.A. Kings, they’re pushing hard now for Pacioretty,” Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos said during the Headlines segment of Hockey Night in Canada Saturday. “We know throughout the last few years there’s always at times a goal-scoring issue with the L.A. Kings — whether they have enough.”
The Canadiens are believed to has asked the Kings for Tanner Pearson or Tyler Toffoli. The Kings 2018 first-round pick has come up, along with the Kings 2017 first-round pick Gabriel Vilardi.
Dennis Bernstein: “If the Habs ask is Gabe Vilardi and 2018 1st round pick, it doesn’t happen. LA has zero interest in trading Vilardi.”
Jonathan Davis: Spoke with one LA Kings executive who said the Pacioretty rumors are just rumors for now.

Pacioretty hasn’t asked for a trade but ….
David Pagnota: On the report that Max Pacioretty may be looking to get out of Montreal … He hasn’t asked for a trade but may welcome one. There has been a lot of frustration in the Canadiens dressing room over where the team is going and some of their key players may be thinking the same thing.
David Pagnotta: “Now it could boil over after season wraps (some players are welcoming it), then it’s up to GM to fix in summer. But if direction isn’t clearer by Sept camp, wonder about future of some players like Pacioretty in MTL. Right now, not a good situation. On GM at this point.”
Maple Leafs, Jets, and Lightning interested in Plekanec …
Lance Hornby: Canadiens Tomas Plekanec was scratched last night and many wonder if the Maple Leafs would be interested. Hockey Night in Canada report says they are interested.
Jeff Hamilton: Multiple sources are saying that the Winnipeg Jets are interested in center Tomas Plekanec. They would have him center their 3rd line with Laine and Ehlers.
Eric Engels: Have heard the Tampa Bay Lightning are one of the teams looking at Plekanec.
