On Milan Lucic …

David Pagnotta: Source saying the Kings final offer to Milan Lucic was for eight years and $34 million – a $4.25 million cap hit. He’s making $8 million more and one less year with the Oilers.

David Pagnotta: Oiles GM Peter Chiarelli said that Lucic was offered a deal for more money than the Oilers. Connecting the dots, the bigger offer likely came from the Canadiens.

Pierre LeBrun: The final two teams that were in on Lucic were the Oilers and Canadiens. Thinking it was Oilers all the way.

James Mirtle: 12 teams were interested in Lucic.

On Brian Campbell …

Craig Custance: The Panthers were offering Brian Campbell a one year deal at $4.75 million. The lure of returning to Chicago was too strong.

Brian Hedger: Was told that the Stars offered Campbell more than the Blackhawks as well. Campbell: “This is where my heart is.”

On Mikkel Boedker …

Darren Dreger: Mikkel Boedker was offered more term and money from other teams, but playing for coach Pete DeBoer was big and he wants to win a cup with the Sharks.

On Dan Hamhuis …

Mike Halford: Dan Hamhuis confirmed yesterday that at the trade deadline he waived his no-trade clause for the Stars. He added that it made leaving the Canucks easier to deal with.

On Kris Russell …

News 1130 Sports: Kris Russell’s agent said the rumors that the Canucks offered Russell $25 million are not true. They never received an offer from the Canucks.

J-F Chaumont: The Canadiens were one of the teams in on Russell.

James Mirtle: Sounding like the Maple Leafs were in Russell and willing to overpay.

On the Radim Vrbata …

News 1130 Sports: Five teams are in the mix for Radim Vrbata.

On David Perron …

Lou Korac: Perron said that he could have made more money or a longer term, but he couldn’t pass up the opportunity with the Blues.

Jeremy Rutherford: Perron had the chance to re-sign with the Ducks or to sign with the Canadiens. Said it was hard to pass up on his hometown Canadiens.
