On the Boston Bruins …
Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Reports from Russia are that Bruins Alexander Khokhlachev will be signing with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL. The 22-year old has spent most of the past three season with Providence of the AHL, appearing in only 9 games with Boston.
It’s believed that Khokhlachev camp would rather see him traded, but he’s forced to use the Russia card as the Bruins still hold his rights. His family has settled in Toronto the past few years. Khokhlachev feels he’s never been given a chance with Boston.
On the Buffalo Sabres …
Aivis Kalnins: KHL’s Dinamo Riga acquired the rights to Zemgus Girgensons from CSKA. It basically means nothing. Hearing that Dinamo also received some money in the deal. Girgensons has already made it clear that the KHL is the last place he’d go. He has said that there are better options in Europe.
Aivis Kalnins: Have been hearing that multiple NHL teams are interested in Girgensons. Girgensons is a RFA and it’s doubtful he’d sign an offer sheet that the Sabres couldn’t match.
