The Philadelphia Flyers aren’t interested in rental players, and Rasmus Ristolainen could cost a first and a prospect
TSN: The asking price for Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen remains a first-round pick and a prospect, according to Pierre LeBrun. He’s got a year left on his deal at $5.1 million, and teams are calling.
The Tyler Myers situation may be holding things up for Ristolainen. Myers could decide something on Wednesday, which could then give a little more clarity on Ristolainen.
Mike Zeisberger of NHL.com: The Philadelphia Flyers are still in the playoff hunt, but GM Daniel Briere said it’s not changing their big, focused plan, and he won’t be looking to add an rental players and give up future assets to take a run.
“I think that’s very fair to say at this point.”
They could still sell defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen despite being in the race.
Briere says they are still building for the future, but if something can be done for the now, and the future?
“Listen, you know, I’m not saying we’re against improving the team if it makes sense both for now and in the future.”
