Teams start turning to the second-tier trade market
TSN: Pierre LeBrun said that some teams are concerned about how long the Mark Stone decision making is taking are starting to turn toward the second-tier trade targets like New York Rangers Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Hayes.
Some teams don’t want to wait until last minute on Monday and then end up with nothing.
Frank Seravalli noted that the Rangers might be able to get first-round picks for both Zuccarello and Hayes.
Puljujarvi may want to be traded
@Prospects_Watch: Elliotte Friedman on Edmonton Oilers Jesse Puljujarvi: “He’s really unhappy, I think he wants to be traded…I think the offers have not been really good. I’m not convinced this is a player who wants to go to the AHL.”
Bob Stauffer: With the injuries to forwards Jesse Puljujarvi and Jujhar Khaira, it is possible that the Oilers hold on to pending UFA Alex Chiasson. The Oilers don’t have a lot up front.
Ryan Rishaug: Puljujarvi was put on the IR and he could be out longer than expected.
The Bruins may not be done
Joe McDonald: Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney: “I don’t know if we’re necessarily going to do anything else. We’ll continue to receive calls and make calls and we’ll continue to look at the market place and see what may, or may not fit with our club. . . will we look at adding more depth? Possibly.”
TSN: Darren Dreger said the Boston Bruins could still be looking to do more. New York Rangers Kevin Hayes and Mats Zuccarello could draw the Bruins eye.
“Charlie Coyle was a nice add, you know Don Sweeney didn’t have to pay a big-game price for Coyle and I believe he’d like to add another forward. The beauty of Coyle is he can play the wing, he can play third line centre and they like the versatility of Hayes and/or Zuccarello as well so it’s going to come down to the next few days and obviously up to the deadline but I think they’ll add.”
