Despite some big deals not working out, the St. Louis Blues continue to be front and center
Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic: The Utah Mammoth may not want to include their 2025 first-round pick, 4th overall in Caleb Desnoyers for Robert Thomas, but GM Doug Armstrong has to ask. Same with Owen Power of the Sabres. If you want that player, you have to ask.
Colton Parayko not waiving his no-trade clause was the third time in the past three years that that’s happened (that we know of). Torey Krug nixed a deal to Philadelphia that might have had Travis Sanheim going to St. Louis. Parayko may have netted a first and 2025 first-round pick, 9th overall in Radim Mrtka. Brayden Schenn was the other one who wouldn’t waive. It’s all within their right as they had the clause in their contracts.
Pierre LeBrun has linked Justin Faulk to the Sabres. Not confirmed, but Parayko may be okay with a trade to the Los Angeles Kings or Anaheim Ducks. A league source has linked Jordan Kyrou to the New York Islanders. Brayden Schenn may only be interested in the Colorado Avalanche. The Carolina Hurricanes have some interest in Jordan Binnington and Pierre LeBrun thinks the Montreal Canadiens would be a good fit.
Other Blues that could be moved include Pius Suter, Cam Fowler, Oskar Sundqvist and Pavel Buchnevich.

The Boston Bruins had shown interest in Conor Garland and Brock Boeser
James Murphy: The Boston Bruins have shown interest in Vancouver Canucks forwards Conor Garland and Brock Boeser this week, according to two NHL sources (Garland was traded late last nigth to the Blue Jackets). A Western Pro Scout:
“They’ve continued to track both players again lately.
It’s no secret that Sweeney has been interested Garland for a while, and he’s still trying to see if something works there. Then, as you reported before the Draft, they were going to go after Boeser if he hit free agency.”
The Bruins had looked at Boeser at last year’s deadline and would have been interested in him if he had gone to free agency last July. The 29-year-old Boeser has six years left at $7.2 million.
