On the Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders …

Jimmy Murphy: (from Monday night) Hearing that the Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders were discussing a potential trade involving Taylor Hall. The Oilers are interested in defenseman Travis Hamonic, but nothing appears to be close yet.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

TSN Radio Vancouver: Iain MacIntrye said that Jannik Hansen is probably worth more to the Canucks than what they would get for him in a trade.

On Brian Campbell …

Craig Custance: Thinking the Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks could emerge as the favorites to sign Brian Campbell.

On Kevin Shattenkirk …

Jim Matheson: Think there is a better chance that Shattenkirk is traded to the Bruins or Rangers.

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Source saying both the Bruins and Oilers are interested in Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk. Same source said the Flyers could be interested in Shattenkirk as well.

Sources saying that Boston could be a desirable location for Shattenkirk as he wants to play on the East Coast. He went to school at Boston University.

The Bruins have dangled their 29th pick and a prospect/player – think Frank Vatrano or Ryan Spooner level. The Blues may want the 14th pick and a Spooner/Vatrano, which may take the Bruins out of running.

“ need another puck mover…that’s for sure,” said one NHL talent evaluator. “If they can get inked to an extension, then the deal makes some sense for them. But if not then that’s a bit rich.”

The Bruins are talking to other teams like the Panthers about players like Dmitry Kulikov.
