- George Richards: Pending UFA defenseman Brian Campbell said he’s open to coming back to the Panthers next year. GM Dale Tallon said they’d like him back. Campbell’s agent will be in Florida next week to talk contract.

On the Colorado Avalanche …
- Terry Frei of the Denver Post: Tyson Barrie’s agent, Don Meehan, was in Denver yesterday for the Avs-Canadiens game. Meehan said that he hadn’t scheduled anything with Avs GM Joe Sakic. Barrie will be a restricted free agent after the season.
“I can’t tell you whether we’ll have any discussions with Joe because we’re simply here to see the players we represent,” Meehan said at the Pepsi Center Wednesday morning. “I may or may not see Joe. I don’t know what his plans are.”
Meehan on the status on contract talks with the Avs on Barrie.
“We’ve had discussions with Joe … We have the opportunity of negotiating a contract or have the availability of arbitration,” Meehan said. “So it will be one of those options at the end of the day. But we have lots of time before we have to make a determination whether we arbitrate or not.”
Barrie on his contract situation.
“We’re trying to get something done. I don’t know how close or how far it is. I’m just going to do my job on the ice and let them take care of the off-ice stuff. We went for dinner (Tuesday night), but it’s just business as usual.”
