Where could Sergei Bobrovsky end up if the Florida Panthers decide to trade him?
Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic: The Florida Panthers have played a lot of hockey the past 3 years, and it looks like it’s caught up to them. Sources say they are in sell mode leading up to Friday. They will listen to calls on their pending UFAs A.J. Greer, Tomas Nosek, Jeff Petry, Daniil Tarasov and Sergei Bobrovsky.
Greer and his $850,000 cap hit are the most likely to be traded.
Bobrovsky has a 16-team no-trade list, and they won’t move him for the sake of moving. It’ll cost more than a fourth-round pick. Teams are calling. Who could be interested in Bobrovsky?
Vegas Golden Knights – Towards the bottom of the league in save percentage and goals saved above expected.
NHL Rumors: Vincent Trocheck and the Latest on Some Potential Suitors
Carolina Hurricanes – Sources said they checked in on Jordan Binnington.
Edmonton Oilers – Likely on Bobrovsky’s no-trade list.
Montreal Canadiens – They haven’t really looked at the goalie market this year, but do they take a quick look? May not want a rental in Bobrovsky, but Jordan Binnington with a year left would make more sense.
Buffalo Sabres – They’ve gotten good goaltending from Alex Lyon and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, but GM Jarmo Kekalainen has a history with Bobrovsky.
The Golden Knights and Hurricanes make the most sense if Bobrovsky is traded.
TSN: There is a chance the Florida Panthers trade Sergei Bobrovsky, but there is a lot of respect from both sides, so they just wouldn’t dump him off, according to Darren Dreger. Teams are calling to see.
NHL Rumors: Florida Panthers Listening on Sergei Bobrovsky But Will He Be Traded?
“Now, when we look at Bobrovsky and the Florida Panthers, I think that there’s also a leverage play at work here. He’s on an expiring contract. Obviously, the general manager of the Panthers, Bill Zito, is going to further explore what that extension looks like. If he deems that it’s too rich, it doesn’t fit the Panthers’ future, well then of course he’s going to listen to the level of interest that is being expressed in Bobrovsky.”
