The Next Domino to Fall from New York is Vincent Trocheck
Dave Pagnotta of The Fourth Period joined Sirius XM NHL Network on Wednesday with Steve Kouleas and Nate Thompson. He was asked about Artemi Panarin, who has now been traded. Who is the next player to go? Is it Vincent Trocheck?

NHL Rumors: New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and the Toronto Maple Leafs
Nate Thompson: “Well, my question was with Artemi Panarin being traded to the Kings, and the next tier of players. I guess you’d say, on the Rangers to possibly get traded, like a guy like Vincent Trocheck. What is the trade landscape look like now with him being available?”
Dave Pagnotta: “Yeah, you’re right. The focus now shifts some of their other assets and Trocheck is somebody that’s generating a lot of interest from a lot of teams. Carolina is in that mix. Maybe that’s where they shift. I think Minnesota is on his radar or he’s on Minnesota’s radar. There are a few others.
But you’ve got him, you have Braden Schneider, who’s generating a lot of interest. San Jose has had interest in him. There are other players on this team that I think they are willing to listen on outside of, the indication that I’ve gotten primarily has been, Igor (Shesterkin) is not going anywhere, Adam Fox isn’t going anywhere. They’d be willing to listen on just about everybody else.
And now with Panarin gone yes a shift, they also obviously moved Carson Soucy last week. But I think Trocheck is the next prize, and he’s going to command a pretty solid return for the New York Rangers. He’s got a few more years left on his contract. Very attractive cap hit. He plays a sound two-way type of game to provide offense and from a championship caliber team this is an ideal 2C that you want to bring in.
NHL Rumors: Nashville Predators Taking Calls on Big Players
So whether it’s a Minnesota, Carolina, or another team that’s looking to shore up the middle, this is going to be an option for those clubs to now focus on. From the Ranger side of it, and I’ve got to imagine, you’re looking at a two- to three-prong return here, where you’re talking about a top prospect, a high draft pick, and an additional asset in order to pry him out of New York.”
NHLRumors.com Note: The New York Rangers have a valuable trade asset in Vincent Trocheck. While it would be hard for them to move on from him, not trading him would be a disservice to the letter that was put out. They have to make more moves than moving out two UFAs that were probably gone anyway. Trocheck has more value than Panarin did. The Carolina Hurricanes need a center, so do the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Minnesota Wild. He would be a good piece for all those teams.
