No proposal from NHL … A 48 game schedule ready to go? Mayers on “won’t or can’t give anymore”
  • Louis Jean via twitter: Sources are saying that the NHL has no plans on presenting the NHLPA a new proposal when mediation starts today.
  • John Buccigross via twitter: A NHL player told Buccigross that a NHL team front office employee told the player that a 48 game schedule starting at the beginning of January is already outlined.
  • Aaron Portzline via twitter: Portzline talked with many people in different hockey capacities, and none of them thought that mediation would be any kind of remedy.
  • Darren Dreger via twitter: Jamal Mayers responded to one of Dreger’s tweets about how some owners say they won’t or can’t give anymore: 1) “Owners can’t give anymore? What have they given? We’re conceding in every area and expected to keep giving? Share 57-50. Make Whole they signed contracts, system issues? We offered solution to back diving they don’t need other issues let Mngrs manage. Pension it would be at our cost they still say no…so many more issues they have not given anything just take take take! biggest complaint is us not using same language. We did last Wed and they shoot it down in 2hrs?$182 M over 5 yrs? Makes sense? ALL players are now willing to dig in.”
