Offer Sheets: A List of NHL Players Who Have Signed One

Heading into the 2015 offseason, there has been talk of potential offer sheets. Teams may be looking to take advantage of other teams salary cap situation.

Since 1986, there have been 35 players that have been signed offer sheets. 13 have been accepted, 20 have been matched, one was dropped and one was invalid.

Craig Simpson July 16, 1993 3 years, $3.09 million Oilers Sharks Invalidated The San Jose Sharks had structured Simpson’s offer sheet so that most of the money was a signing bonus; Simpson’s first year salary would have been less than $200,000 as a result. Earlier in the offseason, Simpson had rejected an offer from Edmonton of $690,000 because it was below the 15 percent raise required to keep him restricted. After the Sharks deal was rejected, Simpson then sought to sign an offer sheet from the Sabres, but Edmonton would trade him there before he could do so.
