- Andy Clayton of the NY Daily News: Sources saying it’s one last Devils start for Martin Brodeur before a likely trade to the Wild.
When Martin Brodeur starts in goal for the Devils Tuesday night at the Prudential Center, it will be the 1,250th time he’s stood between the pipes for New Jersey in the regular season. Sources say, it likely will also be the last time.
With Wednesday’s NHL trading deadline looming, a source told the Daily News the Devils and Minnesota have agreed upon a deal that would send the lifelong Devil and future Hall of Famer to the Wild. The deal is pending the approval of Brodeur, who has a no-trade clause in his contract.
- Michael Russo: “I don’t make a habit of refuting reports, but there’s no indication inside the #mnwild that this Martin Brodeur story is true and No #NHL GM is going to risk a trade to let somebody play one more ceremonial game in front of fans, risk injury and ruin trade.”
- Larry Brooks: Brodeur might be heading to Minnesota, but with the Devils in a “life/death race” are starting him tonight as a “favor” is a little bit much.
- Bob McKenzie: The Panthers have traded Mike Weaver to the Canadiens for a 2015 5th round pick.
