Larry Brooks of the NY Post: Brooks reported that the New York Rangers have offered defensive prospect, Bobby Sanguinetti, to the Phoenix Coyotes for center Peter Mueller. The Coyotes countered by asking for either Brandon Dubinsky or Ryan Callahan. The article is worth a read as he also comments on the Rangers underachieving Cap Killers, Michal Rozsival, Wade Redden, and Chris Drury.
Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News: The Flyers might make a call to the Montreal Canadiens, as Jaroslav Halak is available. He’s at a respectable number of $775,000 and could be a fill in while Emery is out, and could even take over the #1 in Philadelphia. One problem for the Flyers would be that it would cost them a Top 6 forward. Also, when Emery returns, they would have 3 NHL caliber goalies on their roster.
Eric Duhatschek of the Globe and Mail: Ilya Kovalchuk played a big part in the Thrashers bringing Maxim Afinogenov (who’s having a terrific year) to the team, and now it’s possible that Afinogenov could play a roll in Kovalchuk staying with the Thrashers.
Mark Giannotto of the Washington Post: After missing the last 12 games after finger surgery, Mike Knuble could return to the Capitals lineup tonight.
