The Philadelphia Flyers and Brayden Schenn avoided salary arbitration this morning. They agreed on a four-year deal with a $5.125 million salary cap hit according to Bob McKenzie.
Schenn set career highs with 26 goals and 59 points last season.
The 24-year old Schenn was drafted 5th overall in the first round of the 2009 draft by the Los Angeles Kings.
The Flyers acquired Schenn, along with Wayne Simmonds and a 2012 2nd round pick from the Kings for Mike Richards and Rob Bordson.
Matt Larkin: “Brayden Schenn’s second half suggests he’s worth that $5.125-million AAV. He had 37 points in his final 38 games of 2015-16.”
