  • Dave Stubbs via twitter: Carey Price will start for the Montreal Canadiens tonight.
  • Bruce Garrioch via twitter: Jason Spezza wasn’t on the ice today as he’s still bothered by his ‘tweak’. Senators coach Cory Clouston doesn’t think it will be a long term injury. Clouston, “We’re not going to push him for one game and have him miss four or five games”. Ian Mendes reports new Sens lines, Foligno-Fisher-Alfredsson, Michalek-Regin-Kovalev.
  • Ian Mendes via twitter: Filip Kuba is riding a stationary bike now, and hopes to return in 3-4 weeks.
  • Ian Walker via twitter: Andrew Peters who was acquired by the Vancouver Canucks for Shane O’Brien, will stay with the AHL Rochester American rather than report to the AHL Manitoba Moose.
  • Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger: Adam Mair still doesn’t have a contract with the New Jersey Devils, but continues to practice with the club. “Right now the Devils have only 11 forwards. They liked the way Mair performed during the preseason while on a tryout, but they do not have the cap space to sign him.”
  • George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press: Kirk Maltby and Derek Meech cleared waivers. Maltby will meet with Red Wings GM Ken Holland possibly today to see if he’ll retire or report to Grand Rapids. Holland hopes he’ll report.
  • Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: Columbus GM Scott Howson is not forcing the issue when it comes to improving their defensive corps.
