- Bob McKenzie: The ompetition committee is meeting in Toronto today. On the agenda will be visors, icing and embellishment. Representing the NHL are: Poile, Holland, Yzerman, Carlyle, Snider. Representing the NHLPA are: Backes, Pietrangelo, Cammalleri, Hainsey, C Schneider.
- Juha Hiitela: Blackhawks are signing Finnish goalie Antti Raanta. Elliotte Friendman: May have been done a couple days ago but the Blackhawks didn’t want to do it on the day of a Western Conference Final game.
- Chris Johnston: Rick Bowness will be the Lightning’s associate coach. They are still looking for other assistants.
- Montreal Canadiens: The Canadiens did not renew the contract of goalie coach Pierre Groulx.
- Terry Koshan: Rookie tournament in London, ON from Sept. 5th to 8th: Leafs, Penguins, Blackhawks and Senators.
