NHL injury updates
Sean Shapiro: The Dallas Stars have put Martin Hanzal on the LTIR.
Matthew DeFranks of the Dallas Morning News: Stars defenseman Roman Polak will be re-evaluated in a week after suffering a small fracture of his sternum on Thursday.
Stars forwards Blake Comeau and Jason Dickinson were put on the IR retroactive to Thursday.
Forward Corey Perry is on the injured non-roster list and can be activated at any time.
Comeau will be out for several weeks with a lower-body strain according to coach Jim Montgomery.
“We know it’s going to be multiple weeks, whether that’s two or four, we don’t know,” Montgomery said.
Dickinson is out for at least a week with an upper-body injury.
Daniel Nugent-Hopkins: Edmonton Oilers defenseman Joel Persson is still awaiting to get clearance to return. His shoulder feels good and he’s optimistic he can play tonight.
Chris Ryan: New Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider left last night’s game early in the third period. He went to the bench after allowing a goal in a bit of pain before heading to the dressing room.
Kevin Kurz: San Jose Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said that there is no timetable for Dalton Prout to return from his upper-body injury.
Bryan Burns: Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point practice again in a regular jersey.
