Craig Morgan: Coyotes Jakob Chychrun will play his 9th game tomorrow. There won’t be a big announcement, but Chychrun will be staying with the team after his 9th game.
On unconditional waivers …
Bob McKenzie: The Ducks put Mason Raymond on unconditional waivers. The same for the Rangers and Calle Andersson. Both contracts will likely be mutually terminated.
On the Los Angeles Kings …
Jon Rosen: The Kings assigned to Rob Scuderi to the AHL. Move was done to maximize the benefits of putting a players on LTIR.
Cap Friendly: When the Kings recalled defenseman Scuderi, it brought them to within just over $102,000 of the cap ceiling. Is assumed that they then put Jonathan Quick on the LTIR. Putting Quick on the LTIR allows them to go over the cap ceiling by just under $5.7 million.
Dennis Bernstein: Goaltending hasn’t been the Kings issue. Anders Lindback has been practicing with the team. They will likely evaluate how he’s doing before they decide if they need to make another external move.
Elliott Teaford: Anders Lindback is practicing with the Kings today and will do so again tomorrow. He’s expected to join their AHL team this weekend.
On the Tampa Bay Lightning …
Bryan Burns: Lightning coach Jon Cooper said that Jonathan Drouin was held out for precautionary reasons. Cooper added that Drouin was “in good spirits after the game.”
