“It’s believed the Flames, and nobody’s really confirming it, did ask Pittsburgh about their American Hockey League stalwart Matt Murray but the word is everybody is being rebuffed on his availability,” Friedman said.
The Islanders and Panthers are among the teams that could be looking at Andrew Ladd. Unlike the Blackhawks and Kings, the Islanders and Panthers have the cap space to add Ladd without moving salary.

Eric Staal could be traded. He hasn’t been asked to waive his no-trade clause and there have been no contract talks about a hometown discount.
The Islanders ownership situation may affect their free agents Kyle Okposo, Frans Nielsen and Matt Martin.
Jonathan Drouin’s name could creep back into the trade rumors.
