- Helene Elliott of the LA Times: Drew Doughty is not expected to report to the Kings training camp today as they still haven’t come to terms.
“We’re committed to being engaged in discussions and we’re more than willing to talk,” Meehan said by phone Thursday. “I think the next step is for the Kings to respond to our correspondence.”
The Kings don’t want to pay Doughty more than Anze Kopitar’s $6.8 million. The Kings may have gone higher on a longer term, but Doughty wants a shorter term and more money.
