  • Pierre LeBrun via twitter: Looking like talks will resume on Wednesday or Thursday, but it’s not finalized yet. John Shannon via twitter: There was little or no contact between the NHL or NHLPA yesterday. NHL and NHLPA will talk today to finalize plans and agenda.
  • Jeff Klein of the NY Times: Frolunda has been able to get about the $30,000 per month needed to sign hometown hero Henrik Lundqvist, according to Goteborge-Posten and other news outlets. Lundqvist’s agent said last night that there is “nothing to report.”
  • Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: Jakub Voracek badly sprained his knee in a KHL game Saturday night. Voracek was telling HC Lev Praha teammates that it is worse that his agent is saying. The team is saying he’ll miss 4 weeks and will undergo more test this week.
  • Matias Strozyk via twitter: Jonathan Ericsson signed to play with Vita Hasten in Sweden.
  • Matias Strozyk via twitter: Radek Martinek left Ceske Budejovice for family reasons and is returning to New York.
  • TSN: Ilya Bryzgalov thinks that some Russian players will not return to the NHL.

“(NHL) owners…they create this situation and they put themselves into this situation,” explained Bryzgalov. “Like I said before, they have to take responsibility for their own actions.

“If you watch what they did consistently, like saying: ‘It’s going to be (a) lockout. We’re not happy with the system, we can’t operate with the system that we had’…and (yet) they continued to sign the players during the negotiation process, signing the players to long-term contracts for big amounts.”

“I think some of the players may not return to the NHL because you have everything here and major companies are going to pay the top players here big money. And, especially for Russians players who can play at home in front of their own fans and families and even bigger money than they have in the National Hockey League,” said Bryzgalov.
