Trade Hits: Seguin, Edler, Letang, Schneider, Skinner, Myers, Halak, Williams and Flames offer No. 6 to Flyers

  • Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: A source said it would take a “king’s ransom” to get the Bruins to trade Tyler Seguin. It would have to include a top 10 pick and include an All-Star level roster player.
  • Pierre LeBrun: The Canucks are getting a lot calls on defenseman Alex Edler. His no-trade clause kicks in July 1st.
  • Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: If the Penguins don’t come to terms with Kris Letang, they could look to move them.

“He’s worth waiting on in terms of making the right decisions, knowing all the information,” Shero said Saturday before meeting with Hughes. “But there’s a time to make a deal, to sign a player, or maybe it’s apparent that you can’t, or maybe it’s better to wait or do something else.”

The Canadiens, Sharks and Flyers are interested. If they were to deal him, they wold be looking for a top prospect and at least two roster players. The Pens also wouldn’t mind a draft pick.

  • Iain MacIntyre: Canucks GM Mike Gillis on Cory Schneider: “I don’t know. We’ll see. We’re listening to proposals. You never say never.”
  • Nick Kypreos: Players coning off their first year deals that are being mentioned in trade talks: Tyler Seguin, Jeff Skinner and Tyler Myers.
  • Aaron Portzline: The Blue Jackets would like to add a skilled forward that is under a long-term contract. Tyler Seguin fits that mold.
  • Tim Panaccio: The Flyers have held talks with more than 6 teams about draft scenarios and player trades. Finding a goalie is their primary focus.

“He’s made it known he’d like a goalie with no years or one-year left where they can get a read on that player before committing,” a source said.

Sources say a deal for Jaro Halak and his $3.75 million cap hit makes sense, but the cap hit may be too high for the Flyers. The Flyers have talked to the Islanders about Evgeni Nabokov and the Sabres about Ryan Miller.

The Flames offered their No. 6 pick for Matt Read, Braydon Coburn and the No. 11 pick.

  • Dennis Bernstein: The Kings are listening to calls about right winger Justin Williams.
