UPDATE: Chris Johnston: Nazem Kadri’s hearing will be for his hit on Niklas Backstrom. John Shannon: The NHL did look at Kadri’s hit on Granlund but did not view the head as the principle point of contact.
The NHL will be looking into a couple of Nazem Kadri’s hits from last night. Kadri received two minutes for his hit on Niklas Backstrom and a match penalty for his hit on Mikael Granlund.
- Nick Kypreos: Kadri will have a phone hearing today at 1:00 PM.
- Jonas Siegel: “Rulebook states that match penalty shall be imposed on any player who “deliberately attempts to injure” or “deliberately injures”.”
