- Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe: Dupont writes that Zach Parise “has no aspirations to remain in New Jersey” and that if Lamoriello looks to trade him, he might look for “three first-round picks, a roster player, and a prospect”
- Tom Gulitti of the Bergon Record: Gulitti talked to Parise about the above comments,
“I don’t know where they get that info.”
“Who is talking, I have no idea. I’ve never told anyone one way or another. It’s all speculation.”
When asked about re-signing with the Devils,
“Of course, you play in a place and you get drafted by them and you play there your whole career and you’d love to play in one spot for your whole career,” he said. “So, we’ll see what happens, I guess. I do like playing here and I like living here and everything. We’ll see how all that stuff turns out, but ideally you’d like to stay.”
No talks have taken place yet.
- Damian Cristodero of the St. Petersberg Times: The Lightning felt trading for Dwayne Roloson was safer than signing Evgeni Nabokov. The Lightning currently have 3 goalies in Roloson, Dan Ellis and Mike Smith. Once Smith recovers from his knee injury, he could be likely candidate to be traded has he’s in the last year of his deal.
- Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Rumors continue that Kevin Bieksa will be traded once Sami Salo returns, but Matheson wonders if the Canucks should be shopping Keith Ballard instead. Ballard is making $4 million a year on the 3rd pairing and Bieksa is having a good year.
- Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: Mike Commodore has been a healthy scratch for the Blue Jackets for 6 of the last 7 games. He’s their highest paid defenseman, and has only played in 20 of the teams 39 games this season.
