On the Minnesota Wild …

Sarah McLellan: Forward Zach Parise is likely done for the season after he fractured his sternum on Sunday in Game 3.

“I really feel bad for him,” Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said. “When we found out , the sadness on his face … here’s a guy who has worked so hard to get back to where he was, and so hard to want to play for his hometown and bring glory, and he finally gets to that spot, and this happens.”

Tyler Ennis will replace Parise.

The Wild are already without defenseman Ryan Suter who has a broken ankle.

With 4:03 remaining of #WPGvsMIN Game 3 #mnwild Parise took this hit from #NHLJets Scheifele & Chiarot. His next shift was with 2:27 remaining – Parise went out for 13 seconds and didn’t play for the rest of the game. pic.twitter.com/DrbaA1coS8

Darren Dreger: The department of player safety will take a look at the Josh Morrissey crosscheck to Eric Staal. There are a couple days before their next games, so they have plenty of time to go over it.

Sarah McLellan: Eric Staal: “He cross-checked me. I’m the tallest guy on the ice. He cross-checked me in the neck. There’s not much more you can say. Everyone saw it. I don’t know how no one with stripes saw it.”

Sarah McLellan: Eric Staal on the ref: “He apologized. I’m not looking for an apology. I’m in the middle of the game, why would I want an apology? It’s frustrating. It is what it is. Tough. I’m all for playing hard, I love it, it’s part of the game but that wasn’t a good play.”

Ken Wiebe: Josh Morrissey: “it was a complete accident, I was trying to box out (Staal) in front of the net. My stick ended up getting up a little bit on him. I would never try to do that to anybody. I’m not a dirty player.”

Elliotte Friedman: Head coach Bruce Boudreau was so angry about the missed call as a series loss for the Minnesota Wild will have its consequences.

Luke Fox of Sportsnet: Boudreau after the game on the missed call.

“It cost us the game,” Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said. “My take is, it’s the same take that everybody in the building saw it as the refs looked at it and they decided not to call it because we were already on the power play.

“This was a 1-0 game that should’ve been a 0-0 game going into overtime at this stage.”
