NHL Rumors IV: Miller, Canucks, Rangers, Oilers, Leafs, Wild, Habs and Islanders
  • News 1130 Sports: Sources saying Ryan Miller wouldn’t have a problem playing in Vancouver.
  • Wayne Scanlan: The Senators are interested in bringing Milan Michalek back, but only at the right price. He is exploring all his options.
  • Katie Strang: There is a mutual interest in between the Rangers and pending UFA Benoit Pouliot. There has been talks between the two sides since the playoffs ended. Pouliot is looking for a deal longer than one-year.
  • Ryan Rishaug: The Oilers will meet with Mark Fayne’s camp today. There are six or seven teams that are interested in him. He’ll likely be looking for a four or five year deal. Jason Gregor: Gregor thinks a short-term deal with bigger money would work better than a long-term deal at less money. He is a No. 4 defenseman.
  • Ryan Rishaug: The Maple Leafs are not one of the teams that has a planned talk with Mark Fayne’s representatives. That could still change though.
  • Ryan Rishaug: Wild’s pending UFA Clayton Stoner is getting some interest and will meet with several teams this week. The Oilers are not one of those teams at this point.
  • Renaud Lavoie: From Lavoie’s understanding, pending UFA Mike Weaver is asking the Canadiens for more money than they are wanting to pay.
  • Arthur Staple: The Islanders contacted numerous free agents, possibly including Matt Niskanen.
  • Katie Strang:  After talking to agents and other hockey people, getting the sense that the Islanders have been one of the most aggressive teams during the free agent interview period.
