Jimmy Vesey is the youngest UFA in our top 10 at just 22 years old. It’s not easy to rank him as he’s obviously unproven, but his age and potential move him up higher on our list.
After finishing his senior season at Harvard University, Vesey told the Predators that he wouldn’t be signing with them and electing to become a UFA on August 15th.
Vesey was a Hobey Baker this past year after he scored 24 goals, with 22 assists in 33 games. Those numbers were down from his junior season where he scored 32 goals, with 26 assists for 58 points in 37 games.
Rumors have put Vesey signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs or Boston Bruins. Vesey’s dad is a scout for the Maple Leafs and the Leafs drafted his brother. He is from the Boston area. This won’t stop other teams attempting to sign him though.
