The Chicago Blachkawks have traded defenseman Rob Scuderi to the Los Angeles Kings for defenseman Christian Ehrhoff.
The 37-year old Scuderi was drafted 134th overall in the 5th round of the 1998 draft by the Penguins.
The Blackhawks were responsible $2.25 million of Scuderi’s cap hit, with the Penguins picking up $1.125 million. He has one year left on his contract.
The 33-year old Ehrhoff was drafted 106th overall in the 4th round of the 2001 draft by the Sharks. He carries a $1.5 million cap hit.
Pierre LeBurn: The Blackhawks are retain 50 percent of their portion of Scuderi’s contract. The Kings are retaining 15 percent of Ehrhoff’s contract.
General Fanager: The Blackhawks are retaining a $1.125 million cap hit on Scuderi this season and next. The Kings are retaining $225,000 of Ehrhoff’s cap hit.
