2015-16 Consensus NHL Power Rankings – Week 9
Dallas Stars season primer

The top three in our consensus NHL power rankings remain unchanged for week nine. The Dallas Stars hold a narrow one point lead over the Washington Capitals, with both teams each receiving four first place rankings by the media outlets. The Montreal Canadiens hold down the third slot despite being without goalie Carey Price.

The LA Kings move up two slots to fourth. The Detroit Red Wings make a big jump, up from 15th to fifth.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Calgary Flames drop one slot to 30. The Toronto Maple Leafs drop two slots and sit just ahead of the Flames. The Colorado Avalanche hold steady at 28. The Columbus Blue Jackets fall to 27, and the Vancouver Canucks round out the bottom five at 26.

Since we had 9 entries in this weeks NHL power rankings, we’ve dropped the highest and lowest totals for each team.

To get our consensus point total, we awarded the top team 30 points, the second team 29 points, third team 28 points, etc. Added each teams total points and divided by the number of outlets used.

** Keep in mind the dates the rankings were posted, and in some cases, they may have been submitted to their editors the day before it was posted **
